The Person Behind Signal Sites
I'm Richard, a web designer based in Hertfordshire helping local businesses turn their online presence into something that actually brings in work.

Why I Started Signal Sites
By day, I work in-house at a large UK telecoms company designing and building web experiences used by a lot of people. That job taught me what good web design actually is: pages built around how real users behave, not how they look in a portfolio shot.
Then I'd see the websites local businesses near me were paying for — beautiful templates from agencies, invoices in the thousands, and not a single enquiry to show for it. Or worse, no website at all and a phone full of half-finished Instagram DMs.
Signal Sites is how I close that gap. You get the same thinking that goes into sites used by millions of people, scaled down and priced for a one-person trade or a two-chair salon. It's just me — no account managers, no handoffs. The person you talk to is the person who builds your site, and the person you'll talk to when you need a change six months from now.
I'm picky about the work I take on, because I'm fitting it around a full-time job. That means I won't build something I don't think will bring you enquiries, and I'll tell you straight if a website isn't what you need. If that sounds like the kind of person you want to work with, get in touch — happy to chat with no pitch attached.
